Steve Gulley’s lofty tenor and emotional delivery combine to produce one of the finest, and most distinctive, voices in bluegrass today. Steve is a seasoned as well as talented performer, having done lengthy stints with Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, as a founding member of Mountain Heart and five years with Grasstowne. Steve is also a talented guitarist and songwriter. His credits include the 2008 IBMA Song of the Year “Through the Window of a Train”, co-written with Tim Stafford.
Now, in a natural progression, Steve is fronting his own band. Just as naturally, he has been able to attract stellar, accomplished and seasoned musicians to join him. New Pinnacle features Bryan Turner (bass), Gary Robinson, Jr. (mandolin) and Matthew Cruby (banjo). Collectively, Steve and the band were nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year 2016 by IBMA, although calling these guys “emerging artists” is pretty rich.
