Raised a continent apart, these two classically trained musicians were brought together over a love of fiddle and old-time music. Katie Avery moved to Whitehorse in 2012 to teach Suzuki violin lessons. She studied violin at the University of Toronto and has performed all over the country with various musicians. Graeme Poile has performed with several young Yukon bands such as the Hinterlands, The Moanin’ Mountain Boys and The Sideguys. In addition to classical study, Graeme has studied jazz at Vancouver Island University and incorporates these influences into his playing.
