Relative Harmony

Relative Harmony is a family dance band/caller combination comprised of Judy Greenhill (caller), Rick Avery (keyboard) and Katie Avery (fiddle).

Based originally in Guelph Ontario, they performed for local and regional dances, weddings and conferences from 2005-2015 throughout Ontario and the American Midwest, where they became a fixture in the English and contra dance communities. In 2015 Katie moved to Whitehorse to establish a solo career teaching and performing violin.  In 2022 Rick and Judy also headed west, and the band re-united.

Dancers attending a Relative Harmony event can expect a stimulating evening of squares and community dances anchored by Judy’s smooth, concise teaching, and driven by an irresistible and exhilarating collection of Celtic tunes with Katie’s virtuosic fiddling and Rick’s dynamic piano accompaniments. Local dancers can enjoy monthly Saturday night community dances with Relative Harmony from September to April in the basement of the Church of the Northern Apostles in Porter Creek, Whitehorse, Yukon.
